This is a Pangolin. The most heavily trafficked mammal in the world that, before COVID-19, most people had never even heard of before. You are hearing about it a lot now. I was first introduced to this curious creature as a longtime Amnesty advocate & supporter when droves of enslaved children were being used to capture and kill them for their coveted scales which are heavily used in beauty products all over the world.
